First Session: Sell, Bait, and the Rods to Skip

Sell catches, buy bait before the third rod, and skip Alloy Rod so your Luck does not fall back to 5.

The first session is a Cash loop. Cast, win the reel fight, sell to the Fish buyer, and buy the next useful rod or bait. Skills, traits, and orbs matter later. They do not replace the first Luck purchases.

What the two stats do

Power decides how fast you win a fight after the fish is hooked. Luck decides how often a rare fish shows up. They do not climb together. New accounts overbuy Power because it is the number printed on every rod.

Order for the first hour

  1. Finish the tutorial and catch anything on Beginning Isle.
  2. Sell to the Fish buyer. A favourited fish is not sold, so do not favourite a fish you mean to cash in.
  3. Buy Basic Bait for 100 Cash. It is +3% Luck, the cheapest stat in the game.
  4. Move Bamboo Rod (11 Power, 5 Luck) to Iron Hook Rod (13 Power, 10 Luck, 500 Cash), then Steel Rod and Enchanted Steel Rod if you are still on Beginning Isle.
  5. Do not buy Alloy Rod on Bamboo Isle as an upgrade. It is 22 Power and 5 Luck. That puts Luck back where the starter rod was.
  6. Buy a skill from Sage Yijiu only to fill an empty slot. Skyfall Stomp is a 2-second stun. Taiji Quan Technique, a 10-second stun with damage every second, is the first shop skill worth keeping.
  7. Run the daily easy and hard Ticket quests on Beginning Isle. The July 11, 2026 update reduced their difficulty. Tickets fund banner summons.

What to hold next

Shadow Rod on Bamboo Isle is 29 Power and 22 Luck for 60,000 Cash. Ancestral Bait is +50% Luck for 100,000 Cash, more Luck than any rod lists. Together they cover rare fish long before the million-Cash rods.

Skip Grandmaster Steel Rod the same way you skipped Alloy Rod. It is 37 Power and 10 Luck for 250,000 Cash, a collapse from the 30 Luck on Grandmaster Golden if you buy them out of order, and a collapse from Shadow Rod's 22 Luck if you buy it as the next step after the early islands.

What not to buy yet

An orb boosts one skill line and nothing else. Buying the Maoshan Orb before you own a Maoshan skill spends 200M Cash on a passive that does not apply. Crystals reroll the trait on one skill at 5 Crystals per item. Do not spend them on Skyfall Stomp if you are about to replace it.

The longer route is the island price ladder, then the two 100 Power crafts, then Enzo at Level 1000.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best rod?

By listed Power, the Maoshan Rod is highest at 105 Power and 25 Luck, sold by the roaming Maoshan Merchant for 300M Cash. By Power plus Luck that you can craft on a schedule, Heaven Piercer Rod is 100 Power and 36 Luck. Videos that only rank fixed sellers and crafts usually name Heaven Piercer because the merchant is not always up.

Is there a 90 Power rod?

No rod in the current table sits at 90 Power. Starlight Rod is 83, the two crafts are 100, and Maoshan Rod is 105.

How do trait rerolls work?

Trade 5 Crystals to Nanjiang on Beginning Isle for one reroll item, then use it on a skill. Each skill holds one trait. Published odds are 30% Rare, 15% Epic, 2% Legendary, and 0.1% Mythical.

Where is Enzo and what are the modes?

Enzo is on Fallout Isle and requires Level 1000. Easy is 20,000 HP, Hard is 40,000 HP, and Nightmare is 80,000 HP. Only Nightmare drops the Execution Orb, at a listed 50%.

Does one orb boost every skill?

No. Each of the seven orbs boosts one skill line. A Maoshan Orb does not affect Cloud Ascension, and there is no orb named Taiji.

Are there pets or characters?

The published tables do not list a pet system. They do mention characters that buff skill damage by category and are leveled through a separate deal. Individual character names and stats are not in those tables, so this wiki does not invent a roster.
